La Mer à Boire plot

Widower Georges Pierret runs his shipyard as if it were his life's work. Yannik, the head of production, Hassan, the workshop manager, Richard the salesman, Hyacinth, Luis, Jessica… all employees are committed to the success of the company. However, Georges' world collapses when he learns that he can no longer borrow. Suddenly everything is hanging by a thread. The company treasurer gives him only two months to survive. Georges searches for shareholders, negotiates with the ombudsman, unfortunately all in vain. He is forced to fire a number of employees, who immediately go on strike and occupy the factory. A final attempt to attract a Russian investor leads to a meeting with a young interpreter. This encounter gives Georges the courage to make a fresh start…
