La Grande Fille plot
Mathilde, a 37-year-old unemployed architect, moves into a luxurious apartment with her family in the better part of a suburb. Everything seems to be a piece of cake in this world, but Mathilde gradually loses her grip on life and flees into alcohol. Without realizing it, she can no longer live without alcohol and the only person who seems to notice this is her 13-year-old daughter Marion. Her husband François is a geologist and spends a lot of time abroad. His long absences add to the instability in Mathilde's life and when he is at home, François does not even notice his wife's despair.
