La Femme Qui Boit plot
In the old people's home, an old woman reflects on her sinful life, richly drenched in alcohol and misfortune. Paulette, a girl from the lower echelons of society, is liked by a powerful industrialist, who because of his contacts in the political environment does not want to be seen in public with her. He therefore puts her in a chic house where he comes and goes as it suits him. The lonely life frustrates her so much that she makes up with the smooth but unreliable Frank. He promises her the proverbial golden mountains but, as it happens: nothing comes of it. They marry, have a child, but a life as a husband is not for Frank.
