La Edad de la Peseta plot
Havana 1958 on the eve of the Cuban Revolution. Ten-year-old Samuel and his mother Alicia arrive - after the umpteenth break in one of her love relationships - at grandmother Violeta where they are not really welcome. She doesn't like children, nor does she like her own daughter. While Samuel's mother looks for work and a man again, Samuel slowly discovers his own sexuality. His first love is a young girl who suffers from tuberculosis.
