An unemployed engineer and his son have been abandoned by his feminist wife. He falls in love with a nurse at his baby's nursery and has an affair with her. The nurse grows into her mother role and eventually starts to resist the sexuality that makes her an object. The man who sees his right to exist as a father and as a lover disappear, achieves an ultimate act.
