La Corruptrice plot
dr. Denys Fortier took over his father's practice in 1950 in a small provincial town. He hires the services of nurse Marcelle, a cleric who comes over from Paris. In her uniform, Marcelle looks like a stern creature of no age or gender, and she encounters the hostility of many patients, who are used to Fortier's meekness. But Marcelle soon makes himself indispensable. She reorganizes the doctor's office, brings order to the administration and encourages Fortier to buy an X-ray machine. Then one day he diagnoses cancer in Marcelle.
