La Citadelle du Silence plot

Against the background of the student uprisings against Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, Viana tries to kill the governor of the city. However, her lover is blamed for the attack and is imprisoned in a heavily guarded fortress. Viana marries the commander, who is in charge of the guard, to keep in touch with her lover.
