Tord-Cou is a widower who lives in dissatisfaction with his daughter and his son-in-law Carcasse. When he inherits a large sum of money, he marries the fiery Theresa. Carcasse would like to possess Tord-Cou's money and wife, and Theresa is not impervious to his advances.
