L'Ora di Punta plot
Civil servant Filippo Costa (Michele Lastella) literally starts at the bottom of the ladder in the tax investigation, but from the first moment it is clear that he wants to move up at all costs. And that happens. Already within the tax authorities there appear to be private roads that lead to a speeding up of this process. Once grabbed by the big bucks and the kick, there's no turning back. Then, rejected by his actual girlfriend Franceska, Costa meets wealthy Caterina (Fanny Ardant), a well-connected gallery owner who falls for him easily. She brings him into contact with politicians and powerful entrepreneurs. Costa soon leaves the tax authorities for more profitable construction projects, where extortion and private agreements are the order of the day. He seems to be in full control of his game with the two women and his rapidly growing wealth, until some mistakes from the past start to haunt him.
