L'Ombre d'un Crime plot

After attempting to kill herself, Camille, Alberte de Vildrac's only daughter, returns to live with her mother on a vast estate. She is accompanied by Franz, the man she wanted to end her life for, who has just proposed to her. Franz is a distinct personality, a hero of the Lithuanian resistance, a seducer and an engineer. He has made an invention that he wants to finance with the fortune of the Vildrac family. Alberte observes his activities and is suspicious, but he still manages to captivate her with his charms. Franz has managed to let his business partner Gilet also stay on the estate. However, unconvinced of her future husband's good intentions, Camille sets out to investigate...
