L'Étrange Désir de Monsieur Bard plot
When Auguste Bard, a bachelor in his fifties, is told he has only a short time to live, he has a sudden need to be loved by someone. When he is forced to retire, he bets all his money on the roulette in a casino. Much to his surprise, he wins a real fortune. He decides to use the money to pay a woman to give him a child. When Bard manages to get young Donata to agree to his strange proposal, his family tries to have him declared insane.
