L'Équipage plot
During the First World War, the young and enthusiastic Jean Herbillon in Paris is about to leave for the war front. Jean has been called up as a pilot and observer with the 37 Squadron, stationed in Champagne. In the evening Jean has a brief meeting with an attractive young woman, of whom he only knows the first name: a certain Denise. He falls in love with her. The next day, Captain Thélis joins Jean to Lieutenant Maury, an excellent pilot, who becomes his friend. Both are successful in combat. When Jean goes on leave, Maury gives him a letter for his wife Hélène. Much to Jean's surprise, Hélène and Denise turn out to be one and the same person. Despite being shocked by this revelation, Jean realizes that he must choose between his love for Hélène and his friendship for Maury.
