L'Enfant des Appalaches plot

En route to the isolated hamlet of Missisquoi, province of Quebec, in the Appalache Mountains, new doctor Claire Lacoste has car trouble. She continues her journey on foot and meets the girl Sara along the way. She soon discovers that the girl is suffering from a rare disease. She wants to help her, but her mother Maina lives very withdrawn and refuses contact with the rest of the village.
