Kurobe no Taiyo plot

Kitagawa (Toshirô Mifune) is an engineer tasked with building a gigantic tunnel through the Japanese Alps to transport building materials for the great Kurobe Dam. The tunnel traverses a division between two Earth's crusts and is therefore regularly ravaged by collapses and floods. In addition, the battle between management and the union does not benefit the construction industry. The stress is complete when Kitagawa's youngest daughter is diagnosed with leukemia.
