Konsul Strotthoff plot
Marianne Roedern (Inge Egger) is a student at the Mozarteum, the University of Music and Dramatic Art. Strothoff (Willy Birgel), a charming Hamburg diplomat, meets Marianne during his stay in Salzburg, where she has a part-time job as a tourist guide to pay for her study costs. He hires her for a full day to show him all of the city. The young woman and the elderly man have a fantastic, romantic day and then say goodbye to each other. Marianne's friend, Hans Hellmer (Erik Schumann), is a promising conductor. He gets the opportunity to work in Hamburg. Marianne follows him after some time and again meets diplomat Strotthoff in Hamburg. Marianne is enamored with him and must decide whether to love the gallant older man or the inexperienced boy.
