Takeshi, a chef at an Italian restaurant, and Ruri could have been a couple, but Takeshi was always too afraid to ask her. He was afraid they wouldn't be best friends if Ruri didn't choose him. Now Ruri is engaged to another man and Takeshi is very sorry. He runs through the streets of Tokyo to tell her his love for her, but when he stands in front of her he dies in an unfortunate event. By chance, however, they reunite in an ironic situation.
