Killing 'em Softly plot

Grumpy Jimmy Skinner (George Segal) kills a rock band drug-dealing manager who owes him money. He steals the dead man's money. Jane's (Irene Cara) boyfriend is charged with the crime. The man is sent to prison and Jane sets out to find the real killer. During her quest she is attacked by a man. Coincidentally, Jimmy is on the scene and rescues her. Strangely enough, Jimmy and Jane fall in love, but Jane doesn't know anything about Jimmy's secret.
