The worker Hoffi, who is in prison for assault, meets the surveyor Urban during a hospital stay. He begins to see him as his role model. After his release, he and his brother Keule are looking for Urban at various construction sites in the country. He sticks to one of them. He finds colleagues who accept and support him. But above all, he finds Gila, whom he falls in love with. She becomes pregnant by him, but her parents are against him because of his past. Still, Hoffi tries to find his place in the family.
