Kaseki plot
A man learns that he has cancer and that he will live only a short time. He wants to spend his last days all alone. He leaves his family and moves to France and Spain. A glimpse of a Japanese woman causes him to fantasize about her as the personification of his approaching death and conducts entire dialogues with her in his fantasy. Eventually he meets her in person and they complete the tour through Europe together. Gradually he manages to accept his fate and back in Japan he faces challenges that will test everything he has learned in Europe.
