Karl der Große plot

During his youth, Karel has to fight continuously. His main rival is his own brother Carloman, with whom he has to share the throne and the associated power in the Frankish Empire. After Carloman's death, Charlemagne has to fight against the Saxons and Langobards to gain dominion over Europe. When Charlemagne succeeds decades in making peace with the Saxons and subduing the Langobards, the way is finally clear for his coronation as 'Emperor of the renewed Roman Empire'. Anno 800 Charlemagne is the undisputed and most powerful ruler in Europe and can focus on pioneering domestic reforms.
