Kappen! plot

Sander (Tonko Bossen) has not had it so easy lately. He is in love with Indra (Bente Fokkens), but that doesn't seem mutual. What Sander doesn't know is that Indra thinks he already has a girlfriend. In addition, his best friends, Chris and Maarten, increasingly associate with the unhinged Emiel. Sander tries to like Emiel in order to maintain the group of friends, but this is difficult because Emiel drives the friends apart. When Sander becomes involved in senseless violence, he must do everything in his power to uncover the truth. Even if this threatens to be at the expense of his friendship with Indra.

I needed something to pass my time between college and another movie. I had never seen anything from Carry Slee and it turned, so go ahead.

I must honestly say that I liked it quite a bit. A story that is thematically still quite well versed, with actors who only fall below the lower limit for a Dutch level. It is a pity that the plot development towards the end suddenly becomes very implausible. Otherwise you would have had quite a nice teen film, but at the end I mainly had some irritations with regard to the screenplay. Hartbeat, a comparable work from the past production year, did all that a bit more solidly at the end. Here the themes (love, jealousy, friendship, quarrel, you know it) are brought a bit more serious and acceptable.

Certainly very nice for the target group.

2*

Every time I have mixed feelings about Carry Slee's films. On the one hand, I also see that they are not good films; the silly dialogues, the stereotypical teenagers who always get into trouble (get bad friends, end up in crime, get into drugs, etc.. ), on the other hand, the films do something to me, the stories are told in a calm, told constructively and nowhere does it get as loud and vulgar as in those tasteless films by Johan Nijenhuis. But maybe it's also the clumsiness why I like them anyway, because there is of course a lot wrong in this film: that blonde looks like Draco Malfoy with his jealous mean eyes and that girl who is constantly tired, who has something among the members, of course, but what? No Pfeiffer, that is no longer so popular among young people. No, Carry Slee must have thought, Lyme!!

It's a good thing I didn't see this in the cinema because I found it impossible to hold back my laughter at this thick-set oil-stupid film adaptation of the book of the same name by Carry Slee. Tonko Bossen leads a fiercely whining cast who have no knowledge of subtle acting. The predictable story concerns three friends: the good Sander [Tonko Bossen], the so-called 'good guy' Maarten [Timo Wils] and the fanatical Chris [Joes Brauers] who have been best friends since kindergarten. When Sander shows interest in Indra [Bente Fokkens], Chris turns to Emiel [Tobias Kersloot] and presto: suddenly Chris and ultimate follower Maarten are part of a criminal gang and Sander must of course play the moral figurehead. Badly acted, badly written, but so bad it's fun.
