Kalo Pothi plot
In a remote Nepalese village, during the Maoist civil war, two twelve-year-old boys are best friends, despite belonging to different castes. Owning a hen means a lot to them now that they can earn money from selling the eggs to fulfill their childish dreams. Their society is limited by poverty and the caste system. Poor Prakash's sister secretly joins the Maoist party, while Kiran's sister's groom is arrested and killed by the Maoists. The boys try to get the chicken at all costs, but are confronted with the harsh reality of the world around them.
