Kad Budem Mrtav i Beo plot
Janko, nicknamed Dzimi, is fired from his temporary job as a seasonal worker along with his girlfriend Lilica. Unemployed, he is heading for an uncertain time and despite all his efforts he cannot find another job. In an attempt to get some money, he steals from some construction workers, but when he has to escape, he loses sight of Lilica. This is how Janko's wandering began. He learns to sing by becoming the lover of a café singer and travels to fairgrounds, remote military garrisons and small settlements. One day he meets a young woman and decides to participate in the song contest in Belgrade.
