Ju Wai Ren plot
The hotel room as a place where everyone is a stranger. A place that is yours for a short while. A temporarily intimate space that a chambermaid enters to clean without leaving a trace of her visit. Each segment of “Stranger” takes place in such a place, each part shot in a single long take. “Stranger” weaves together a series of episodic stories—some humorous and absurd, some poignant and mysterious—all set in a seemingly confined space. It explores the idea of home when you’re not there, and sheds light on the distinct yet universal experiences of isolation and loneliness.
