The great criminal Martin Martin was almost ready to participate in New York politics, but escapes in time from the prosecution, who wants to arrest him for a murder he committed five years earlier (along with fellow criminal Dane Cory). . To exonerate himself, Cory has arranged a meeting with the Public Prosecution Service. At this meeting Cute Freddie shoots Martin, on Cory's orders, and Cory then kills Freddie. Cory goes into hiding in the apartment of his girlfriend Lily White and her six-year-old daughter Elsie in Greenwich Village. The injured Martin manages to track Cury.
