Jiyan plot
In March 1988, during the regime of Saddam Hussein, horrific chemical and biological weapons attacks took place in Kurdish areas of the country. In the town of Halabja, 5,000 people were killed and thousands more seriously injured. In this drama, a Kurdish man, Diyari, after living in America for a long time, returns to his homeland to set up an orphanage in Halabja. Several years after the attacks, he finds a community with visible scars everywhere. He is particularly concerned about the fate of Jiyan, a ten-year-old girl with a disfigured face.
