Ella Conradi, a devoted journalist from West Germany, reports from Jerusalem on the trial of the criminal Nazi criminal Adolf Eichmann. Disgusted by the atrocities revealed during the trial, she returns to Germany for good. Here she wants to devote herself again to the ordinary cases and court hearings. Her first assignment is the murder trial of a man named Ralf Jordan, who constantly insists he is innocent. Conradi, believing she can help him, begins an investigation, but ends up in a political hornet's nest.
