Jeniec Europy plot

After Napoleon (Roland Blanche) lost the battle against the Allied armies at Waterloo, he was exiled to the island of Saint Helena in the Atlantic Ocean, which lies in the middle of the water off Angola. The climate is rough and unhealthy. The island belongs to Great Britain. The government is in the hands of British Governor Hudson Lowe (Vernon Dobtcheff), who tries every possible way to humiliate and belittle his special prisoner. He does not for a moment recognize that Napoleon is emperor because he had crowned himself. Lowe only wants to recognize his military rank.
