Jean Gentil plot

Haitian professor Jean Remy Genty is always on the go, looking for work. A job on a construction site turns down the unemployed Jean. On a construction site he would only feel old and weak. He is looking for something that stimulates his intellect enough. Jean spends years looking for decent work that does justice to his education. He begins to give up hope, he feels the natural urge to start a family and have a house. He gets confused by his desires and thoughts, negative feelings take over. This disrupts his view of reality and everyday life.
