For years, Konrad Lang (Gérard Depardieu) has lived for the Senn family. First as a playmate for Thomas, heir to the family fortune of the Senns, and later as caretaker of their holiday villa in Biarritz. The Senns, in turn, have used him as a handyman. As a result of early Alzheimer's, Konrad increasingly loses his short-term memory, but regains memories from his distant past. And this is exactly what Elvira Senn fears the most, because it exposes a dark family secret.
