Irkalla: Dreams of Gilgamesh plot

Chum Chum is an outspoken, asthmatic child who dreams of Gilgamesh (an epic tale from Mesopotamia about a hero who attains wisdom). His older sister is trying to earn money in a cabaret. The reckless Moody has taken them under his wing. The youngsters find themselves abandoned to their fate in a world destroyed by adults. Moody is forced to work for a militiaman who hides weapons and commits attacks, while Chum Chum strives to study with a teacher they all turn to for food.
