"Her Royal pride trampled in the dust- vain pomp and power snatched away and destroyed by the ruthless hand of Red revolution. - Although she had been a Grand Duchess, she finds real happiness in America leading a simple life as a saleslady."

In tsarist Russia, the young peasant son Stepan is exiled to Siberia for allegedly insulting the Grand Duchess Tatiana. After his release, a year later, Stepan joins the Bolsheviks, who are now fighting to overthrow the royal family. After they succeed, the royal family, including Tatiana, is sentenced to death. The Bolshevik official in charge of carrying out the executions turns out to be none other than Stepan...
