In the Hollow of Her Hand plot

A man is murdered in a roadhouse and his wife Sara Wrandall is summoned to identify the body. When she arrives at the scene, she hears that her husband was in the company of a veiled woman, but that the woman is nowhere to be found. As Sara drives back home, she sees a young hysterical woman about to jump off a bridge. Sara immediately concludes that this must be the veiled woman. Sara saves the woman and takes her home. Since Sara was never taken for granted by her in-laws, she devises a plan to exact revenge. This is where the veiled woman comes in handy.
