Impian Kemarau plot
The story is set in an inhospitable and drought-stricken village on a remote island and revolves around three characters. In the first place Johan, who tries to attract rain to the village through new scientific techniques (he is the rainmaker from the title). Johan seems to have been sent by the central authority, but he also seems to have been left to his fate by that same central authority. In any case, the plane he needs to influence the weather does not arrive. Then there's Asih, the charismatic traditional singer who completely captivates Johan. Finally, there is the singer's housekeeper, who forms the stark contrast to the meteorologist. Against his rational attempts to influence the circumstances is her observant and passive wait and see. She asks no questions and has no expectations. Johan's interest in Asih is not appreciated by the villagers. She is the diva of the village and people don't feel like sharing her with a stranger.
