Il Conte di Sant'Elmo plot

Sicily, 1860. Massimo Serato, a patriot in disguise complete with tights, mask and other ornaments and known as the Earl of St. Elmo, fights an oppressive government. He robs a stagecoach to obtain money to finance his venture. Among his inmates is Bianca, a famous opera singer, whom he releases after singing to the bandits and losing her heart to the count. Shortly afterwards, he tries to rob the police minister's house, but is discovered by a servant. He hides in the room of the minister's daughter, Anna Marie Ferrero, who he tells of his mission and she too falls victim to his charms...
