Hotelboy Ed Martin plot

'Hotelboy' Ed Martin witnesses a murder. The perpetrator is caught, but Ed had previously taken a bag with papers from the victim that must prove that politicians have ties to the gangster environment. The killer's silence meanwhile is rewarded with his release and the search for Ed is made. Beaten half to death, he confesses to the crime, but later retracts his statement. Meanwhile, he has found friends who want to defend him. Then he is found dead in his cell. The police, who hanged him there, say it was a suicide...
