"What he needed most was to be wanted."

Billy (Adrien Brody) is a seasoned street kid from New York who one day is forced to end up in Nebraska. He moves in with the Swedish farming family Anderson and finds it difficult to adjust to the way his new relatives live their lives. Billy mainly clashes frequently with his adoptive father and initially does not really get along with him. It therefore takes a while before he realizes that at least he still has a home with the family and that he has to get hold of the homely feeling and cherish family life.
