1933. Professor Nichols' American school in Berlin is located next to the school where the Hitler Youth is trained. Karl, a Hitler Youth member, is attracted to the German-American Anna. But circumstances break their relationship. When war breaks out later, Anna is expelled from the American school because she is also German. Professor Nichols becomes obsessed with finding Anna, who is trapped in a journey through Nazi hell.
