Histórias Que Só Existem Quando Lembradas plot
Time has long since stopped in the remote village of Joutuomba, once the rich center for the surrounding coffee plantations in the 1930s. Here lives the old widow Madalena and some other old villagers who have lived through the earlier times. Madalena routinely carries out the day-to-day operations, as she has for years; keep the cemetery clean, listen to the priest's services and share her lunch with fellow villagers. When young photographer Rita visits the village, Madalena seems to spring up and filling her days becomes more bearable. Little by little, this changes the behavior of Madalena and her fellow villagers.
