Himeyuri no Tô plot

Fumi Uehara (Kyoko Kagawa) and two hundred other girls aged fifteen to nineteen are appointed nurses three days before the Allied attack on Okinawa. Their initial optimism is soon tempered during the three-month battle. When the Japanese positions deteriorate, the girls are left to fend for themselves and must make their own way past the enemy forces and through dire circumstances or commit suicide.
