Het Geheim van de Saramacca Rivier plot

Prof.dr. Horatio Treurniet, professor of Development Theories at the University of Amsterdam, returns to his native Suriname for the first time after forty years, to celebrate his fiftieth birthday. He is accompanied by his elegant wife Hortense, a Surinamese woman five years younger, who only left for the Netherlands when she was twenty. Their marriage lasted twenty-two years and remained childless.
