Het Achterland plot

The idiosyncratic seventeen-year-old Esmée works at the counter of a small train station. She lives with her mother, a woman who likes to be surrounded by younger lovers, much to Esmée's dismay. Then a mysterious traveler arrives at the station. He invites the lonely Esmee for a cup of coffee. This leads to a few intense days that they spend together, in which the stranger helps Esmée discover her first love
