Heideschulmeister Uwe Karsten plot

Ursula Diewen is engaged to Heinrich Heinsius. On their wedding day, her friend Martha Detleffson tells that Heinrich is the father of her child. Ursula cancels the wedding and flees to a remote area. Heinrich commits suicide. Ursula meets the young teacher Uwe Alsiev and they have a lot in common. Then Martha arrives and arranges with Ursula that her child can be accommodated with the pastor. In the village, however, there are rumors that the child is Uwe's.
