Heaven Leigh Casteel is in high school and the oldest of Luke and Sarah's five children. They live in the backcountry outside the small town of Winnerow, West Virginia. Heaven is intelligent, but is mistreated at home. She discovers a dark secret about her family and a tragedy turns her life upside down.
