Happy Birthday plot

At an ordinary birthday party, completely different people are confronted with similar problems. Ron is a minister who preaches weekly about norms and values, but who watches gay porn movies whenever he can. Jim is way overweight but is a successful telephone salesman of diet products; he has low self-esteem and suffers from depression. Kelly is devastated about breaking up with her girlfriend and at the same time completely obsessed with her former roommate. Disowned by his Muslim family, Javed has to fight for a residence permit with his boyfriend, a porn movie star. And then there's Tracy who gets her traditional Taiwanese mother over for a visit.
