H Story plot

The film revolves around French actress Béatrice Dalle, who plays herself in a Japanese film. The film in the film is a Japanese remake of Alain Resnais' acclaimed French classic Hiroshima Mon Amour. As an actress, Dalle not only plays herself, she also has to - literally - follow in the footsteps of Emmanuelle Riva, who played the lead role in the original film. In the movie-within-the-movie, she plays an actress who has come to Hiroshima from France to play a part in a movie about peace. The film looks at itself in the mirror and sees a film that also looks at itself in the mirror.
