Guide plot
"The story of Raju; swindler, playboy, adulterer, dancing girl's manager, jailbird and finally a martyred mystic."
After being released from prison for forgery and theft, the multilingual Raju now revisits his old life: meeting Rosie, the daughter of a prostitute who is unhappily married to Marco and who wants to start a career as an actress and dancer. Rosie divorces and moves in with Raju and his mother. With Raju's help, she manages to build a dancing and acting career, which brings a certain wealth to both of them. But then he succumbs to gambling and alcohol, forging Rosie's signature.
