There is a bad taste of war, violence, revenge, strife, poverty and not really being free in this film that stars two young girls who, precisely because of those circumstances, see a carefree childhood pass by.

The pace of the film is slow and the references to the background conditions make for a smooth transition between the successive scenes of the film.

The two main actresses put on a sensitive act, but it is not great at all.

Life in Georgia seen from the point of view of two schoolgirls. I usually call these kinds of movies kind of touristy. A film in which very little happens, but where you do get a look behind the scenes of what things are like in a foreign country. Towards the end, there is still something of a story that seeps up here. But it's all very thin. And it won't make you happy either. Not a country that makes me excited to go on holiday.

It is distressing to see how bitter everyone was, there is only swearing, bullying, fighting and commanding. Not very strange in itself, of course, with the approaching war imminent.

At times the acting was not very good by the two teenagers, so that every now and then I was briefly distracted from the story. It's not very disturbing. Overall, this is just a really good movie.
