Gotthard plot

At the end of the 19th century, they want to build the first tunnel through the Swiss alpine giant Gotthard. Thousands of workers from different countries are housed in Switzerland and embark on the gigantic assignment. Again and again, the success of the project is in danger: the company is in danger of bankruptcy, there are rebellions among employees, diseases are spreading and the relentless work is claiming many victims. In between are Anna, the Swiss daughter of a foreman, the German engineer Max and the Italian miner Tommaso, who have to complete the daily work with many ups and downs.
