Kansas, 1954. Evelyn Wyckoff is a lonely and deeply depressed teacher. The 35-year-old woman no longer finds satisfaction in her job, despite the fact that she is loved by students and colleagues. She is a virgin and longs for love. Her doctor suggests starting a romantic relationship with someone. One day she is approached by Rafe Collins, a stubborn, licensed scholarship student who cleans the classrooms at the end of the school day. After brazen, lewd suggestions, he decides to rape Evelyn.
